Welcome to Bristol Therapy Hub, where your journey to healing begins. I'm Kathryn, and I am honored that you are considering me as your therapist. Taking the step to seek help requires immense courage, and I firmly believe that psychotherapy can empower you to regain control of your life.

With years of experience in various professional settings, I have cultivated a therapeutic space that prioritises your well-being. My approach is rooted in compassion, as I walk alongside you, guiding you to uncover and understand the emotions, thoughts, and behaviours that hinder your path to a fulfilling life.

I specialise in working with clients who carry unresolved childhood issues or trauma, which may manifest as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship problems, anger issues, eating disorders, or somatic symptoms. In a warm and supportive environment, I create a safe space where you can freely express yourself, explore your experiences, and ultimately grow.

I believe in fostering self-awareness through a relationally focused psychotherapy. This approach combines the power of mindfulness, bodywork, and talk therapy. Together, we can explore how to:

  • feel more comfortable asking for your needs to be met
  • establish healthy boundaries and confidently say no to unwanted requests
  • reduce anxiety in social situations, allowing you to engage more freely
  • cultivate self esteem and release yourself from cycles of guilt and shame
  • gain a deeper understanding of yourself, uncovering the sources of anxiety and discovering what brings meaning and value to your life
  • recognise self-sabotaging behaviours that hinder your progress
  • let go of coping mechanisms that no longer serve you, finding new ways to support yourself on your healing journey

Life presents us with unique challenges, each demanding its own approach. The reasons for seeking counseling and psychotherapy are as diverse as the individuals themselves. You might be facing personal or relationship difficulties that you wish to overcome. Alternatively, you might long for enhanced creativity, richer relationships, or simply more fulfilling days..

There are many different reasons why you might want to start working with a psychotherapist or counsellor. You may:

    • find yourself overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or recurring panic
    • be navigating the emotional aftermath of a relationship breakup and seek support
    • struggle with depression and low self-esteem, finding it hard to move forward in life
    • carry worries and concerns related to the CV19 pandemic or broader existential themes
    • encounter challenges in your relationships or family, such as miscarriage, illness, or parenting issues
    • experience significant life changes like career transitions, redundancy, or relocation
    • encounter difficulties in managing anger and its impact on your well-being
    • battle with deep-seated problems like shame or guilt stemming from childhood unhappiness or past trauma
    • face the grieving process and navigate the complex emotions following the loss of a loved one
    • grapple with trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting from sexual abuse, violence, or being in a controlling relationship.

You may resonate with one or more of these experiences, or perhaps you have a sense that something is amiss in your life , without being able to pinpoint it precisely Whatever your situation, I am here to support you as you embark on this exploratory journey.

It's worth noting that many individuals who seek psychotherapy or counseling may not have a specific issue in mind but are seeking guidance and support to navigate life's challenges.

Take the first step towards positive change today. Contact me at Bristol Therapy Hub to schedule your initial session, and together, we can create a path towards healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

If you are suffering from, and need help with an emotional or psychological issue not listed, please call, text or email me to arrange a free 30 minute intro session.

About Psychotherapy & Counselling: Empowering Personal Growth and Healing

Psychotherapy and counselling provide an opportunity to talk to someone in confidence. I work from a psychodynamic perspective, based on the principle that problems and distress in the present may be related to early experiences. Whether your problems are identifiable, or elusive and confusing, therapy can help you deal with emotions that are difficult to understand, giving you fresh insight into your life and work in order to find the best way forward.
