Hello I’m Kathryn, I’d like to welcome you to Bristol Therapy Hub. Deciding to start working with a psychotherapist takes courage. Many people experience periods in their life when they are struggling and living through a global pandemic has for many brought with it, significant pressure and anxiety. It is a normal and healthy part of living to recognise when things are not quite as you would like, or to simply feel that you would like some support to understand and move through a difficult time in your life. I can provide you with a relaxed, comfortable and informal space where you can talk in confidence and have the opportunity to be heard and deeply supported.

To start with this might focus on learning to tolerate feelings and experiences, such as anxiety, stress or depression, that have seemed unfamiliar or unbearable. However, as the therapeutic process unfolds, this may also include your capacity to be kind and patient with yourself. Together, we find out how you can experience and accept more of who you really are, and support the development of new and fulfilling ways of living and expressing yourself.

There are many different reasons why you might want to start working with a psychotherapist or counsellor. You may:

  • be feeling anxious and depressed or suffering from anxiety and panic attacks
  • be feeling weighed down with worries and concerns relating to the CV19 pandemic
  • have issues in your relationship or with your family
  • be facing stressful life changes
  • have difficulties with handling angry feelings
  • have problems stemming from unhappiness in childhood, or other difficulties in the past
  • have experienced trauma from abuse or violence, or being in a controlling relationship.

One or more of these might be familiar to you. On the other hand, you might simply have a sense that there is something wrong in your life, but you’re not sure exactly what it is, and you’re looking for someone to work with you and support you as you begin to explore this.

Many people who come for psychotherapy or counselling do not have a specific issue in mind.

If you are suffering from, and need help with an emotional or psychological issue not listed, please call, text or email me.

About Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy and counselling provide an opportunity to talk to someone in confidence. We may engage with it at different stages in our lives, when particular issues are calling for our attention, or we may need support to deepen self-awareness, and our capacity to relate to ourselves and others in an authentic and intimate way, which is a life long journey.
