“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change

About Psychotherapy

One to One Psychotherapy & Counselling offers ways to work through many emotional or psychological issues that modern life can challenge us with.

My clients are central to my work, and my practice was born from the desire to help people to feel fulfilled, empowered and happy in their lives, wherever they are and whatever they are doing.

“Most of us have been dragged kicking and screaming to the realization that what really works in psychotherapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client… We are all devastated by this reality because we spent years and a lot of money learning a particular technique or theory, and it is very disheartening to realise that what we learned is only the vehicle or springboard to create a relationship – which is where the real work happens”

Daniel Stern

I use a range of methods and approaches to fit your preferences and personality and the issues you bring. Broadly, the intention is that through our work you’ll form a clearer sense of yourself and your situation, start to find your own answers within you, and lay solid foundations for positive change.

My philosophy that ‘everyone is unique and therefore everyone requires their own solutions’ has informed the way I approach my work.

I am passionate about my work and strongly believe that therapy can bring positive change and improvement to people’s lives. We are all vulnerable in today’s stressful world; it is not uncommon to feel lost or confused from time to time, or to experience symptoms, unhelpful behaviours or a lack of confidence. These are things that we all go through.

The important thing to remember is that you are not alone. Talking with a professional can provide concrete help and support, as well as short and long-term relief from issues or problems you are facing.

Each therapy is tailored to the individual and it is ultimately a co-created process between client and therapist. If we agree to work together, we may then consider for how long – it may be just a few sessions or on an open-ended basis.

Harnessing the potential of Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychoherapy – an experiential form of psychotherapy –I will support your path in becoming more aware of how you think, feel and act in the present moment; I provide insight into ways in which you can overcome any unfinished business in order to live at your full potential. For this, I will draw from my experience in Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, to provide a rounded and holistic approach which is unique to you.

The mind is burdened with a compulsion to repeat the past, and a compulsion to get away from the compulsion to repeat the past. Try figuring that out! Leonard Shengold.

About Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy

Mindfulness Core Process Psychotherapy represents a blend of Eastern philosophy and Western psychology. It draws heavily on Buddhist principles and practices, such as a focus on mindfulness, compassion, and unconditional acceptance, and is guided by the Buddhist view of human suffering and healing.

Mindfulness based Core Process Psychotherapy is the original Mindfulness based psychotherapy in the UK. Its training is fully accredited by United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

The approach to therapy emphasises a deep, ongoing awareness of one's body and mental processes for self-exploration and healing. The therapeutic process is a joint undertaking in which the therapist accompanies the individual on a journey into the deepest levels of their experiences. The therapist serves as a facilitator, helping the individual focus attention inward and become aware of what they are experiencing in the present moment. Through this contemplative self-study, individuals may discover the historical roots of their problems and achieve a clearer sense of who they are. As they process this information in the present, they will hopefully begin to let go of old habits and approach life with greater creativity and flexibility.

Mindfulness based therapy is based on the assumption that at the core of every human being is an intrinsic state of health, awareness, compassion, and wisdom. This "core state" is believed to be unconditioned and ever-present, regardless of the situation we find ourselves in.

Therapy sessions are designed to work by helping individuals become aware of this shaping process and to see ways in which it contributes to their suffering. More specifically, it helps individuals to:

- Slow down their automatic processes so that these can be examined and where necessary, adjusted
- Access psychological material that was previously hidden so that it can be processed in a safe environment
- Connect with their core state and catalyse their natural tendency toward a healthy existence
